Start early. Use better tools. Build something amazing.
The Omaha Outward Bound School is committed to building our next generation of community leaders and difference makers. Experiential learning, the kind you get from clipping-in and rappelling from a 60-foot rock ledge, is proven to make a bigger impact on a young person. If you want extraordinary outcomes, it requires extraordinary programs. Our programs focus on building confidence, leadership skills, collaboration, conflict resolution and trust for kids of all ages and backgrounds.
All in the context of adventure and fun.

Multiple-program progression that promotes the participants’ growth in confidence, critical thinking skills, compassion, character, leadership and, ultimately, self-reliance. Sessions take place at a combination of school classrooms, the Omaha Outward Bound School Base and Omaha-area frontcountry.
1 – 3 Days
Learn to see the city in a whole new way as students travel by foot or public transportation to complete a series of urban challenges connected to an educational theme. Sleep in historic buildings, navigate public transportation and gain a greater sense of community connection. On Omaha Outward Bound Schools’ Urban Expeditions, students travel Omaha streets and neighborhoods to discover firsthand the forces that shape our city. They engage with people, food, places and activities that are very different from their own experience. We weave community service and adventure activities into each trip. The expeditions can be aligned with school curriculum to provide an experiential approach to learning that complements content already being studied.
